Tapajós Scapular
The "Tapajós Scapular" is an exclusive piece from Nunghara Biojoias that celebrates the richness and beauty of the Tapajós region. Despite the name "scapular," this piece has no religious connotation. It is a unique symbol for those who wish to carry with them a piece of the essence of Santarém and the Tapajós region. Whether for personal use or as a gift for someone special, the "Tapajós Scapular" necklace is a declaration of love for the culture and stunning nature that permeates this Amazonian land.

Natural Jewels
Our focus is on using resources from the Amazon rainforest, acquiring seeds for the production of bio-jewelry. This practice not only preserves biodiversity but also promotes environmental sustainability.
Commitment to Sustainability in the Amazon:
We are committed to preserving the Amazon and the Tapajós region, using natural materials and eco-conscious practices throughout the production process.
Focus on Amazonian Women:
We value and empower Amazonian women, both in local communities and within our team. We believe in the potential of women in the Tapajós region and strive to create opportunities for their growth and development.
We are from the Tapajós. We are from the Amazon.
We were born in the heart of the Tapajós region, in Santarém, Pará. Our connection to this exuberant region transcends mere geography; it is an essential part of our identity and purpose. At Nunghara Biojoias, each piece carries with it the traits and essence of this blessed land. We honor this heritage in every aspect of our business. We create natural jewelry.
OUR HISTORY
Nunghara Biojoias is a startup born in the heart of the Lower Amazon, in Santarém, Pará, created to transform Amazonian biodiversity into value, identity, and impact.
We create bio-jewelry from native seeds, sourced from the Tapajós National Forest, the Arapiuns region, and the Eixo Forte area of Santarém. Our work is rooted in design with seeds — blending traditional knowledge with contemporary design to create pieces with refined finishing and strong identity, expressing what we call Amazonian luxury.
We are incubated by the Tapajós Incubator, linked to UFOPA (Federal University of Western Pará), which strengthens our innovation structure and growth strategies. We also partner with UFOPA’s seed laboratory, improving processing techniques and advancing traceability of raw materials.
Our production operates through a network with strong female leadership across all stages — from seed collection to final assembly. We work directly with women collectors, artisans, and makers, generating income, strengthening autonomy, and valuing traditional knowledge. Men also collaborate in specific production stages, contributing to a value chain that impacts families and communities across the Tapajós Forest and floodplain regions.
We combine craftsmanship with structured production. While respecting the natural variations of each seed, we have developed processes that allow aesthetic standardization and product replicability, enabling scalable production with quality and consistency.
Since 2023, we have developed authorial collections that reflect origin and innovation. In our first collection, we introduced the Tapajonic Scapular, a signature piece inspired by indigenous Tapajonic ceramic patterns. In the same year, we began testing pieces made from cumaru bark — an innovation that transforms a natural by-product into a high-value material.

In 2025, we launched a collection dedicated to cumaru bark, consolidating this innovation and reinforcing our commitment to Amazonian bioeconomy.
Nunghara is also connected to the national fashion and sustainability scene. We participated in the 60th edition of São Paulo Fashion Week, in collaboration with designer Leandro Castro, and were part of COP 30 through a fashion manifesto show promoted by Assobio in partnership with Riachuelo. We are members of Assobio and RIBBA, strengthening our presence in impact-driven networks.
Beyond production, we develop our social arm through Coletivo Nunghara, offering free workshops that introduce women to bio-jewelry production, promoting training and inclusive economic opportunities.
Nunghara has established itself as the first formalized bio-jewelry production facility in the Lower Amazon, connecting forest, design, and innovation in a model with scaling potential.
More than a brand, we are a bridge between territory, culture, and market — where the forest becomes jewelry, seeds become income, and design becomes value, helping regenerate territories.
Design with seeds. With roots, brilliance, and meaning.
